Dream it.

The challenge presented to us by Grade A Design was to bring their creative design to life and capture all of the magical oasis inspired themes from the Sol De Janeiro Holiday 2024 “Celebrate Out Loud” campaign.

“Attendees are transported to a world of surreal hyperbole, where self-celebration is at the forefront, and engaging entertainment sparks the attendees imaginations.”

-Sol De Janeiro

Build it.

In order to produce a complex display of this nature within the timeline requirements, we had to work closely with Grade A Design and give live engineering feedback as they finalized the design with the customer (Sol De Janeiro). The booth was ensured to meet ADA compliance and kept sustainability at the highest of importance throughout the build. The biggest challenge of this project was figuring out how to incorporate a vast number of design elements into two different layouts while keeping the project on schedule with a hard deadline.

The project started with Grade A Design visiting Machine-Star to discuss the scope of the build. This developed into a structural process that led into daily feedback and communication to discuss engineering and design adjustments in real time.

Sustainability.

After research, we chose Envirolak water based paint products instead of chemical based products. Envirolak gave us amazing durability while achieving the bright and vibrant colors to match the Holiday Campaign.

FSC Certified woods and recyclable materials were implemented throughout the booth. Fabric were used in place of vinyl where possible.

An additional BUM BUM chair was created to meet ADA compliance.

multi - use.

We were given a tight timeline: one month to finalize a design and another month to build a booth adaptable to two different spatial requirements at shows on opposite ends of the country. The first show, the Sephora Managers Conference (SMC) in Las Vegas, required a 10' x 15' footprint. The following show, Sephoria in Atlanta, required a 20' x 20' space. Working to make components that adapted to both shows was a priority of the design from the very beginning.

Make it stand out.

Creating the booth involved numerous complexities. The design, with its vibrant and tropical theme, required precise PMS color matching to maintain the brand’s lively aesthetic. Ensuring structural stability for each individual layered piece, including the stylized monkeys, tropical birds, and lush palm trees. All while including components like the shelving units, hidden storage areas, and of course, the "Spin to Win" wheel seamlessly into the overall design added another layer of intricacy. Each layer had its own personal touch to create the final harmonious blend of creativity, technical expertise, and strategic coordination.
